Description:
In 1945, a group of Rockford residents decided to present Handel's beloved oratorio, "Messiah," to bring encouragement to a war-weary city. The tradition has continued for 69 years. The concert is conducted by local maestro Nat Bauer, and presented by a 130-member volunteer choir of all ages from over 30 area churches, schools, and organizations, a chamber orchestra including harpsichord and pipe organ, and four internationally-known soloists.
